The Listening School was honoured to facilitate a session on The Power of Listening at the recently concluded 9th Central Bank of Nigeria Board Retreat.
The session brought together members of the Board and Senior Leadership in an environment characterized by thoughtful engagement, active participation, and meaningful dialogue. It underscored a fundamental leadership principle: while hearing is automatic, listening is a discipline that strengthens decision making, builds trust, and enhances organizational effectiveness.
Through practical insights and reflective conversations, participants explored the critical role of listening in governance, leadership, collaboration, and institutional excellence. The session reinforced the idea that effective leadership begins with the ability to truly understand before responding.
Speaking after the engagement, The Listening School reaffirmed its commitment to advancing listening across organisations, institutions, and communities.
As the organisation continues its mission of impacting relationships and society, one listening ear at a time, one boardroom at a time, this engagement with the Central Bank of Nigeria marks another significant milestone in promoting listening as a strategic leadership capability.
